Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accused the BJP and RSS of fuelling unrest in various parts of the state on Thursday, claiming that the state government acted "on time." The Rajasthan government will not spare the perpetrators of the Karauli, Jodhpur, and Ramgarh episodes, he said.

We acted quickly, therefore, only minor issues happened; nonetheless, we have apprehended the perpetrators and will not spare anyone. On Tuesday, hours before Eid, tensions erupted in Gehlot's hometown of Jodhpur, causing officials to ban mobile internet connections and impose a curfew in 10 police station regions of the city. There was a ruckus over the placement of religious flags atop the Jalori entrance circle in Jodhpur, which resulted in stone-pelting and the injury of five police officers. Violence erupted in Karauli following a stone-pelting incident during a religious procession in April this year, while a 300-year-old temple in Alwar's Rajgarh was razed with a bulldozer.
