It’s that time of the year when we’ve started hearing the pitter-patter of the rain. Everyone prefers to travel in a car during monsoon, so here are some tips to monsoon proof your cars and tie your seatbelts to have a great journey. Here are some measures of it:

  • Put on the breaks

Since brake is an essential part of a vehicle during monsoon, take a special account on it. Check the brake fluid and take care that breaks are neither too tight nor too loose. Make sure to clean the brake pads and change it if necessary.

  • Tires on road

Pressure and inflation are the two most important things to be kept in mind while driving to avoid skidding of the vehicle. The depth of the tyre must be at least 1.6mm to avoid any mishap.

  • Wiping off the droplets

While driving, water droplets can be the most annoying things one can face. To avoid this problem, make sure that the wipers are checked and replaced to bring them into proper condition. Also, keep your windshields in proper condition.

  • Turn down the rust

Rusting of metals is one of the exasperating things during monsoon. Rainwater can lead to rusting of exposed metal or even the car’s paint. A very good way to avoid it is to apply a thin coat of wax that would resist the water.

  • Set out the headlights

Fog is what we face often during the rainy season which causes imperceptibility. To avoid this, keep the headlights and taillights of the vehicle straight-laced.

  • Check the connections

Rain can cause short circuits and improper working of the electrical components. To fudge off this problem, properly insulate the externals and well as the internals.

  • Dry it off

We never know when the monsoon can be at its worst. So always keep a set of dry clothes to soak up the water. It’s also suggested to keep a small vacuum cleaner to dry off all the wet and keep the bad odour away.

So with all these measures, have a blast this monsoon.
