Hyderabad: A daughter of a Beedi worker, who lost her father when she was only six and a half years old, used YouTube videos to help her pass the NEET exam and land an MBBS seat.

Harika, who hails from a small village in Telangana's Nizamabad district, had a stringent upbringing due to the loss of her father when she was just six and a half years old. But the result of her mother's perseverance, her own efforts, and some helpful assistance from YouTube tutorials was that she passed the NEET exam.

Former Member of Parliament K. Kavitha expressed her support and made the decision to pay for Harika's schooling after learning via YouTube and passing the NEET entrance exam.

Young Harika, whose mother works as a beedi worker, was able to enroll in medical school by tutoring herself using YouTube videos. After losing her father when she was a young girl, Harika put a lot of effort into this year's NEET exam, earning a state-level rank of 700 and a position at the All India level of 40,000.

MLC Kavitha met Harika and her mother Anuradha who belongs to Nizamabad.

Kavitha showed her support by presenting a check for the first installment of Harika's medical school fee and making a promise to cover the remaining balance.

Wednesday morning, Kavitha tweeted, "Dare to dream and never give up until you accomplish them. This is the account of Harika, who used YouTube videos to successfully pass and do well on the MBBS exams. I met her and her mother and gave the first instalment of her tuition as a gesture of support for her aspirations.

“Meeting Harika and her mother and becoming a part of her incredible journey is truly a blessing,” said the MLC.
