BMW Motorrad's global sales have seen a 17.7% drop in the first half of the year 2020. The German motorcycle brand believes that total sales for June 2020 were the best for any month of June. Coronavirus globally and its challenges on consumer sentiment and the global economy affect half-yearly sales. Nevertheless, there were slow sales from March to May as many countries implemented lockdowns to prevent the spread of Covid 19. It seems that it was shaken up a bit with positive sales in June.

Markus Schramm, head of BMW Motorrad, said, "After a vigorous start to the new year, it remained at the end of February with an increase of about 12% over the previous year. Then the dynamic development of the pandemic Covid 19 also brought negative effect over the  demand for motorcycles, but we again see a clear light at the end of the tunnel. "

In the month of June, BMW Motorrad has sold 20,021 motorcycles in the world, which is a 12% increase over the same period last year. This figure is also 9.8% higher than in May 2020. According to BMW Motorrad, sales figures have been down during the very weak month of March to May due to the corona epidemic, but BMW Motorrad was able to sell 76,707 motorcycles worldwide in the first 6 months of the year. For now, worldwide motorcycle sales are on the path of revival. But the challenge of the epidemic is far from clear and a clear picture will emerge only in a few months ahead.
