Gwalior: Recently, senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has targeted the BJP over the controversy over calling Nathuram Godse a 'patriot'. Scindia said on Saturday that BJP leaders are repeatedly praising Mahatma Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse. On 27 November, BJP MP Pragya Thakur called Godse a 'patriot' while discussing the SPG Bill in the Lok Sabha. However, his remarks were removed from the recording of the House. Later he also denied this by issuing a statement. After offering flowers at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Phool Bagh area here, Scindia said, 'The mistake happens once, but the BJP MPs are doing it again and again. In 2014, a BJP MP called Mahatma Gandhi's killer a patriot. Now another MP is saying this.
According to information received from sources, Scindia said, "In 2014, the proceedings of the House were adjourned and the government of that time asked the MP to apologize." He said that BJP talks about discipline, but its leaders show disrespect towards the country with such statements. Recently, on the incident of Hindu Mahasabha trying to 'worship' Godse, he said that it is wrong to take the name of the person who killed Gandhiji.

The speculation started after changing his introduction on Twitter, Scindia said that he had changed it a month ago, but now rumors started going on it. Scindia said, 'I am a Congress worker and such rumors (quitting the party) should be stopped now.' About the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress coalition government in Maharashtra, Scindia expressed confidence that this new history will be created.
