In the international market, gold fell to $1,880 per ounce, while silver remained almost unchanged at $22.62 an ounce. Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities, said, "On Monday, the spot price of gold was trading 0.85 per cent lower at $1,880 per ounce on the New York-based commodity exchange Comex due to the strengthening of the dollar and rising US bond earnings, leading to a fall in gold prices here." '
On Monday, gold on MCX was at a low of Rs 674 per 10 grams. Yesterday, gold was trading 1.30 per cent lower at Rs 51,080 per 10 grams and this trading of gold is being seen for June futures. Yesterday, the price of 22-carat gold in Delhi was trading lower by Rs 1,190 per 10 grams at Rs 47,200 per 10 grams. At the same time, the rate of 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 51510 per 10 grams with a fall of Rs 1280 today.
