New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government at the Centre is considering an extension of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, health ministry officials have said recently. Yes and is planning to offer it at a nominal premium for new beneficiaries. Let us also tell you that PM Modi launched this scheme in the year 2018 and under this scheme, 10.74 crore families are getting free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.

While talking about this, a senior government official said, "Through this, we will be able to benefit all those who need it. Preparations are being made to make it accessible to the people at a nominal premium." Apart from this, he said, "There is a need to pay attention to the middle-income section of the country, which is neither rich nor poor. They are being considered to be covered under the health insurance scheme.''

In such a situation, the officials said that the premium for health insurance is currently around Rs 1200 to 1300. The Central and State Governments bear their expenditure in the ratio of 60:40. Apart from this, the officer also said that "There are people in the country who earn 1,00,000 per year. There are people who earn Rs 10,00,000 per annum. If you look closely, the latter may earn more, but he may not be able to bear all the medical expenses. So we need to expand the list of beneficiaries. This plan is being seriously considered.''
