New Delhi: The national medical commission (NMC), the country's medical regulatory body, on Friday issued a circular giving a big relief to foreign medical graduates. He said that due to adverse circumstances like the corona pandemic or war, foreign medical graduates who could not complete their 'internship' will be able to complete it in India.
It said that for this, students will have to pass the screening test. The decision has been taken by the NMC to benefit hundreds of Indian medical students in Ukraine. In a circular, the NMC said, "In view of the 'anguish and stress' of these students, their applications can be processed by the State Medical Councils, provided the candidates have cleared the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination before applying for completion of internship in India."
The permit to complete the internship can help Indian students in various medical colleges in Ukraine, who had to leave their courses due to the Russian invasion. Thousands of Indian students returned to their country by planes sent by the central government after fleeing Ukraine amid sustained attacks by Russian troops.
