In fact, the Bihar government may claim that tourism has not been affected due to prohibition, but IRCTC says that tourists do not want to come to Bihar due to prohibition. If tourism is to be increased in Bihar, then the Bihar government will have to relax the prohibition of liquor and make arrangements for drinking liquor to foreign tourists. Zafar Azam, Group General Manager, East Zone of IRCTC said in a press conference, the way we drink water, foreign people drink it (alcohol). So if you want the foreign exchange to be earned then foreigners have to be given the freedom to eat and drink accordingly.
Zafar Azam further told that when we talked to the people of many countries, he said that the mind wants us to visit many tourist and religious places of Bihar including Bodh Gaya, Vaishali and Sarnath, but whatever is necessary for us, if we don't get it, how can we go to Bihar? According to an IRCTC official, if the foreign exchange is needed then foreign tourists will have to be attracted. If the Bihar government works on the blueprint of IRCTC, then the state can get foreign exchange worth crores of dollars. Not only this, more than 10 thousand jobs can be created. According to Azam, Bihar is the only state in the whole of India where there are major pilgrimage sites of Hindu, Jain, Buddhist, and Sikh religions.
