YouTube had reduced its Full HD + quality video to HD 480p resolution for all countries around the world in March this year. The company took this decision to reduce the load on the Internet in the COVID-19 crisis. Because COVID-19 infection people were locked in homes due to the lockdown and were spending their time on YouTube. In such a situation, there was also a lot of load on the Internet, in view of which the company stopped full HD quality. But now full HD video quality has been made available on mobile for Indian users.
YouTube had the freedom to stream only 480p quality of video to both mobile data and broadband subscribers in the country from March to June. But in July, the company increased this capacity to 1080p for full HD for broadband subscribers. The company has also increased this capacity for the Indian mobile data consumer. Which means that now along with broadband, mobile subscribers will also be able to take advantage of 1080p video capacity.
According to the announcement made by YouTube, now consumers can take advantage of 720p and 1080p full HD video streaming. But make it clear that still video cannot be streamed at 4K quality. But it is expected that after full HD, now the company will soon start 4K video stream as well. Let us tell you that YouTube was not the only company to change the bandwidth. Rather, the famous OTP platforms Amazon Prime Video and Netflix had switched to full HD video streaming in the COVID-19 crisis.
