VADODARA: A goods train derailed in Gujrat's  Mangal Mahudi railway station in on Monday, causing disruption in the rail traffic movement Around 27 trains, including Rajdhani and August Kranti were being diverted, informed railway officer.

The electrical supply was harmed when sixteen of the train's coaches derailed between Mangal Mahudi and Limkheda stations. Train service between Delhi and Mumbai was hampered by the derailment.

Railway sources said that the derailment occurred when the freight trains from Vadodara were travelling north, and that some coaches' wheels came loose and shattered. The overhead electric supply line was damaged as the coaches collided.

About 27 passenger trains have been diverted, Western Railway alerted customers via social media and its Twitter account. On the Ratlam-Chittorgarh-Ajmer-Palanpur-Ahmedabad-Vadodara section, trains from Delhi were detoured. Trains running from Mumbai to Delhi were detoured to Chayapuri, Ahmedabad, Palanpur, Ajmer, and Jaipur, among other locations.

Divisional Operational Manager for Ratlam, said, "16 coaches have derailed due to the accident, which happened at 12.30 a.m. Teams are now working to restore the lines. We should be able to use the track following the trial if at least one line (track) is restored by evening."
