Google has announced several new features for its Chrome desktop browser, aimed at improving the user experience with the integration of AI technology. These updates include the integration of Google Lens, a product comparison tool called Tab Compare, and a natural language search feature for browsing history.

With the integration of Google Lens into Chrome, users can now search for visual content directly from their screens. By simply dragging and dropping, users can highlight any part of a webpage--whether text or images to find visually similar results. These searches can be further refined based on factors such as color, brand, and other specifics. Users can also ask follow-up questions to delve deeper into a topic.

The new Tab Compare feature allows users to view AI-generated summaries of products across multiple tabs in a single, consolidated view. This is particularly useful for comparing reviews, prices, and other product details when making purchasing decisions.

Additionally, Google is introducing a natural language search function for Chrome’s browsing history. This feature enables users to find previously visited websites using conversational phrases like, "What was that ice cream shop I looked at last week?" This optional feature can be toggled on or off in Chrome settings and does not include data from incognito mode.

The AI-driven Google Lens feature will be available with the upcoming Chrome update, which is set to launch in the next few days. The Tab Compare and browsing history search options will be rolled out in the U.S. over the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, Google is gearing up to introduce its flagship smartphone series, the Pixel 9, on August 13. Recent leaks have highlighted the performance and specifications of the new devices, with a particular focus on the Tensor G4 chipset. While the new chipset may not offer significant power upgrades, it is expected to deliver improved efficiency.
