Google has officially launched its Gemini AI app in India, offering support for nine Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The app, previously known as Bard AI chatbot, was rebranded in February and has now been made available as a standalone app after a four-month wait.

The Gemini AI app allows users in India to interact in their preferred language, making it more accessible and user-friendly. This move is part of Google's efforts to enhance its services tailored for the Indian market.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the launch of the Gemini app in India through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He expressed his excitement, saying, "Exciting news! ???????? Today, we're launching the Gemini mobile app in India, available in English and 9 Indian languages. We’re also adding these local languages to Gemini Advanced, plus other new features, and launching Gemini in Google Messages in English."

Gemini users will now have the convenience of using the app directly from their devices, enabling seamless interactions across various Google services. The integration of local languages into Gemini Advanced will further enhance the app’s usability and accessibility for Indian users.

To download the Gemini AI app, users can visit the Google Play Store and search for "Gemini AI". The app is free to download and is compatible with Android devices. It provides a range of features designed to assist users in everyday tasks, including information retrieval, task management, and conversational interactions.

Google has also indicated that it will continue to expand the capabilities of Gemini, introducing new features and improvements over time. This includes further integration with Google Messages, allowing users to access Gemini directly within the messaging app in English.

The launch of Gemini AI app in India underscores Google's commitment to delivering localized and innovative solutions that cater to the diverse needs of users across the country.
