In the case of gang rape of a 13-year-old girl in Gopalganj, the police have arrested one criminal, while two criminals are still said to be absconding. After the matter came to the notice, the police started an investigation and are conducting continuous raids to nab the culprits. According to the police, the 13-year-old minor was on her way to a maize field near her house when three criminals caught hold of her and carried out the gang-rape by taking her hostage. The criminals have made the video viral on social media. 

After the incident in Gopalganj, as soon as the video went viral, there was a rift in the entire area and resentment against the criminals increased among the people. At the same time, the victim's family is scared and shocked after receiving threats after the incident. A police officer said that on the statement of the victim, an FIR has been registered on Sunday evening, in which three persons have been named criminals. In this case, Hathua SDPO Naresh Kumar said that action is being taken by registering an FIR under the POCSO Act. In this case, the police have arrested one criminal and the police are conducting raids in the border areas of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to arrest two other criminals who are absconding. He has assured that soon both the absconding criminals will be arrested by the police.
