New Delhi: The central government is considering all kinds of measures to speed up economic development in the country. The government is planning to introduce a special incentive policy to make the country a hub of electronics exports which will promote 'Make in India' campaign in the country. In this policy, the government will give special concession to manufacturing units. It will be proposed to encourage manufacturing units connected to mobile handsets and other electronic devices beyond the rules and regulations.

States are also being made partners to encourage electronic manufacturing. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has indicated this in a meeting of company heads convened by IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. According to sources, a proposal to keep the price of land and electricity stable for at least 10 years for companies wishing to set up electronic manufacturing units in the states will also be included.

The Center will ensure that the states that want to set up such units here will have to freeze the price of land and electricity rates for ten years. On this condition, states will be able to participate in this scheme. Under this, the 'Champions of Export' will be identified, which may be included in the committee's report proposing additional incentives. There has been an increase in smartphone exports from the country.
