Dehradun: Amid the uproar over recruitment examinations on Thursday, the government approved the anti-copying ordinance. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, using the privilege, allowed the ordinance proposal with deviation. Late in the evening, it was also sent to the Raj Bhavan for permission. The Chief Minister said that the government is fully alert to protect the interests of the youth of the state. Like before, neither any recruitment scam has been suppressed nor hidden. All the cases that have come up so far, we got them investigated. Those found guilty have also been sent to jail.

CM Dhami said that the government had already decided that a strict law would be enacted to prevent cheating in recruitment examinations. Such concrete arrangements are being made that all the examinations to be held in the future are transparent and without cheating. Earlier, the government was preparing to bring it in the cabinet meeting on 15 February. But the CM, taking initiative, approved it today itself.

According to the anti-copying ordinance, copying will be considered a non-bailable offense in the state. In such cases, the offender may be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term that may extend to ten years. There is also a provision for confiscation of the property acquired by the offender. Along with this, the Dhami government has also said in the ordinance that the candidate who cheats will be banned from appearing in other examinations. The government removed Sunder Lal Semwal, Controller of Examinations of the Public Service Commission. At present, the responsibility of the Controller of Examinations has been given to Haridwar City Magistrate Awadhesh Kumar. Sunderlal is kept in forced waiting.
