In the midst of a nationwide lockdown, the state and central government are trying to overcome the Corona infection. According to a notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, on Monday, the government relaxed export restrictions on 24 pharma ingredients and medicines, including vitamins B1 and B12. According to the notification, export restrictions on paracetamol and other medicines made of paracetamol will continue as before.

On March 3, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) had banned the export of 26 pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and their compound medicines, under which the exporter has to obtain a license or permission from DGFT for export.

In the past, with the pharma companies expressing concern about these restrictions, now the export of 24 APIs and their compounds has become easier. On March 6, Union Minister of State for Chemical, Fertilizer Mansukh Mandavia said that the government has imposed a short-term ban on certain active drug ingredients (APIs) in relation to the preparation of coronaviruses.
