New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance gave a presentation on the plan to return Indian citizens stranded due to lockdown in other countries. The presentation was presented at a meeting of top officials convened by Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba. Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla gave detailed information about the 'exit plan' and explained how the Ministry is working on repatriation of Indian citizens.

He told that for this, it is being seen how many people are stranded and how many flights will be required to bring them from which country to which state in India. Wherever possible, efforts will be made that such Indian citizens return with a corona negative certificate. Harsh Shringla further said that doing this will help in identifying which people need to be sent to Quarantine Camp and who should be sent to Home Quarantine.

He said that the Ministry of External Affairs is working with detailed details on this plan. It will be seen that until the flights are restored, then who needs to be brought back home first and what is the strong basis for this. Such a list will not be limited to those Indian citizens, visitors and students who are stuck in other nations in lockdown due to Corona crisis. This list will also include those Indians who want to return home due to strong 'humanitarian reasons'. '
