Actor-TV host Govind Padmasoorya, who played the villainous role in Kee in Tamil a few months ago, has also entered Telugu. In the upcoming film Aala Vaikuntha Purramulu, starring veterans like Allu Arjun, Samuthirakani and Jayaram, GP plays one of the lead roles. Pooja Hegde and Nivetha Pethuraj are the heroines of the film. It is directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

Says GP, “The producers of the Telugu project had seen Ki and my performance in the film got me into this role. I was in Singapore when I got a call for this. As soon as I heard names like Trivikram Srinivas and Allu Arjun, I was sold. Once I reached Kerala, I flew to Hyderabad and met him. The actor started shooting around July. The film is clearly the story of three fathers and their sons. Jayaram, Samuthirakani and Murali Sharma play the role of father, and Allu plays Arjun, Sushant and GP son. "Samuthirakani Sir plays my father's character," says GP, a family drama-less comedy entertainer with all the things that are fun packed into the story. The actor has several scenes with Allu in the film, and says that working with him was quite a memorable experience.

"No wonder he has a lot of fans. He is a sweetheart who is very sociable and spends a lot of time interacting with co-actors. He also used to spend big time sending me chocolates, Hyderabad special chocolate pan and caravan Likes. He is also quite updated about Malayalam films and sometimes, we used to see him as 'Mallu' Arjun too, jokingly says "G.P. He is also happy for his Telugu debut as Trivikram Srinivas's film. “His Mahesh Babu-starrer Athadu is the first Telugu film I ever saw and liked. I feel lucky to enter Tollywood through my film. "Had a lot of fun, so I wasn't too scared. But I was trying to understand my 'English' lines very well during the dialog delivery. I think I understand the language better now."
