NEW DELHI: The Monsoon Session of Parliament is just around the corner, and in preparation for this important event, the government has scheduled an all-party meeting on July 19. This gathering serves as a customary tradition where parties come together to discuss various issues. Senior government Ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have actively participated in such meetings in the past.

However, a similar all-party meeting that was supposed to take place on Tuesday had to be postponed due to the unavailability of leaders from several parties. While the opposition parties are holding their meeting in Bengaluru, the ruling National Democratic Alliance is convening in the national capital.

In anticipation of the upcoming all-party meeting, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held discussions with some of his Cabinet colleagues, including Pralhad Joshi and Piyush Goyal. Mr. Goyal serves as the Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, while Mr. Joshi holds the position of Parliamentary Affairs Minister. Together, they worked on finalizing the government's points of view for the meeting.

Given the ongoing political climate, with the BJP and opposition parties engaging in heated exchanges in light of upcoming Assembly polls and the Lok Sabha election, the upcoming Parliament Session is expected to be quite turbulent. The Congress and other opposition parties aim to confront the government on various issues, including the Manipur crisis, price rise, and alleged misuse of probe agencies.

It's worth noting that the previous session was marked by frequent protests from the opposition.
