Govt Prepared for Structured Debates in Winter Parliament Session; Key Bills Listed

NEW DELHI: Pralhad Joshi, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, assured on Saturday that the government is fully geared up for methodical discussions in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. Joshi urged the opposition to cooperate in ensuring the smooth functioning of the House.

"Commencing from December 4, the Winter Session will span across 15 sittings. Today, we convened an all-party meeting where 23 parties and 30 leaders participated. The Zero Hour has been a regular occurrence," Joshi stated.

Emphasizing the need to maintain a conducive atmosphere for structured debates, Joshi highlighted the importance of adhering to parliamentary rules and procedures. "The government is well-prepared to engage in discussions on various issues," he added.

Earlier in the day, Joshi chaired the all-party meeting at the Parliament Library building in anticipation of the Winter Session.

The forthcoming Winter Session is set to address several critical bills, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Bill 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023.

Here is a comprehensive list of bills expected to be taken up during the 14th session of the 17th Lok Sabha and the 262nd Session of Rajya Sabha:

The forthcoming Winter Session is scheduled to be held in the newly inaugurated Parliament building, a significant stride in the government's efforts to modernize the architectural landscape of New Delhi, as unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September this year.
