Bhopal: An order was issued by Excise Commissioner Rajiv Chandra Dubey on liquor in Madhya Pradesh. Because of that order, the political struggle started. In fact, in the order that he had issued, there were some decisions on liquor that were given to the collector of all the districts. As soon as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan came to know about this order, he has withdrawn it with immediate effect. Let us also tell all of you that three days ago, Home Minister Narotam Mishra had made a statement to open new liquor shops, and only a few hours later, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "No such decision has been taken.''

Even after all this, on 21st January, Excise Commissioner Rajiv Dubey issued a letter to all collectors and sought proposals for the opening of 20% new shops in the districts. Only then did the political struggle begin. As soon as the case unfolded, former chief minister Uma Bharti expressed displeasure over social media in the case. He held a press conference in Bhopal on the issue of complete temperance. In the meantime, he said, "the incidents of rape are on the rise only after intoxication. So, there should be temperance, prohibition. Digvijay Singh also supported temperance. On Uma Bharti's statement, Home Minister Narotam Mishra said, "He and I have made my point. The Chief Minister will take a final decision on the opening of new shops.''

Now, in this order, the excise department says, "We have sought suggestions from collectors for new shops because it is just a routine process. There is nothing to speak about why the proposals were canceled."
