Ottawa: Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce, Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food, Public Distribution, and Textiles, met with representatives from the Canada India Foundation and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce in Toronto. Minister of International Trade, Export, Small Business and Economic Development of Canada , Mary Ng was present on this occasion. India offers the world a stable environment under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister Goyal asserted.

Goyal said that he had wonderful interactions with representatives of the Canada India Foundation and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce on Monday (local time) in Toronto."With India working on various fronts to expand its economy, invited them to help take India-Canada ties on a faster growth trajectory."

AT Toronto, Goyal addressed the CEOs of significant Canadian companies, participated at a roundtable of Indian and Canadian CEOs, interacted with Indian and Canadian businesses there, and more. The visit is anticipated to give bilateral trade and investment partnerships more vigour.

Partners in Growth!, the minister wrote in a tweet. encouraged the captains of industry to invest in India's resilient growth story while speaking to the CEOs Roundtable in Toronto.

The minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership during his speech in Ottawa, saying, "What we are delivering is a stable environment with a decisive leadership, a popular leadership. A leadership that is dedicated to making the world a better and safer place to live is one that is not only well-liked in the nation but also known internationally as a leader who is making a substantial contribution to addressing global concerns.
The minister made the following statement regarding the G20 Presidency: "And our G20 Presidency reflects his vision when he says One Earth, One Family, One Future."

It was nice to connect with Chartered Accountants (CAs) at the Toronto Chapter of ICAI, the minister said in another tweet about his interactions with CAs. urged them to use their connections and experience to strengthen trade ties between Canada and India.

Piyush Goyal also opened the India Pavilion at Salon International de l'alimentation Canada (SIAL Canada), one of North America's biggest trade events for food innovation, on Tuesday (local time). "Delighted to open the India Pavilion at @SIALCANADA, one of the biggest trade shows for food innovation in North America," he tweeted. I'm pleased to see more than 100 Indian organisations presenting the dynamic food and beverage (F-B) industry of India on a global scale.

The minister tweeted on Tuesday (local time) about meeting Royal Bank of Canada President and CEO David McKay: "It was a joy to meet Mr. David McKay, President & CEO of @RBC. discussed ways to increase commerce and investment between Canada and India.

The Union minister will be in Toronto for two days (May 9–10) and has a full programme of events to attend to advance trade and investment. A team of CEOs from India organised by the business association FICCI is accompanying the minister.

The sixth India-Canada Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment (MDTI), which took place on Monday (local time) in Ottawa, was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal and Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business, and Economic Development, Government of Canada. A bilateral mechanism known as MDTI offers a forum for the discussion of numerous topics relating to trade, investment, and potential areas of collaboration. The dialogue will be centred on a number of topics, such as enhancing the bilateral trade relations between India and Canada, investment promotion and cooperation, the green transition, including a discussion of critical minerals, and new areas of cooperation, such fostering B2B engagements.
