One of the renowned faces of the Pakistan Industry, Fawad Khan is enjoying the success of the film, The Legend of Maula Jatt. The Legend of Maula Jatt, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, was slated to release in India on December 30 but its release is now postponed.
Fawad Khan in a recent interview opens about the release of his film in India. He said, "That would be great, obviously. If it were to happen, it’s a great way to handshake. It is kind of like those sweets and delights we send across to one another on Eid and Diwali. Films and music is that kind of an exchange. But things are a bit heated still, let’s see. I’ve heard it may release and it may not. So, let us see.” He added, “I am a small part of the industry and the kind of boundaries it pushed, the business it did and the filmmaking style…all of it proved great for Pakistani cinema.”
Earlier MNS leader Ameya Khopkar opens up on the release of the film in India and said, “There are plans to release Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Pakistani film ‘ The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India. It is most infuriating that an Indian company is leading this plan. Following Raj Saheb’s orders, we will not let this film release anywhere in India.” He further wrote in another tweet that, “Fawad Khan’s fans, traitors may very well go to Pakistan and watch the film.”
'The Legend Of Maula Jatt', which was released on October 13, 2022, and became the first Pakistani film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office, is likely to be released in India. The reports are doing rounds that the Fawad Khan-starrer may release on December 23. After the Uri attack in 2016, there has been an unofficial ban on Pakistani films and actors. As Fawad Khan has a significant fan base in India and made his debut in Bollywood with film 'Khoobsurat' in 2014. He was praised for his performance in 'Kapoor & Sons' released in 2016.
