Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, 30 crore poor people have received financial help. The scheme was announced last month by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. At the same time, the Finance Minister announced these measures in late March for the affected people due to the 21-day nationwide lockdown. The government had announced to provide cash assistance to women and poor senior citizens and farmers along with free grain under the relief package of Rs 1.70 lakh crore.

For your information, let us tell you that under this scheme financial assistance of Rs 500 has been sent to the account of 19.86 crore women Jan Dhan account holders. A total of Rs 9,930 crore has been spent on this item. At the same time, the first installment of two thousand rupees has been sent to the account of 6.93 crore beneficiaries of PM-Kisan. The government has spent Rs 13,855 crore on this head.

In a tweet issued by the Finance Ministry after this announcement, "An amount of Rs. 28,256 crore has been sent to the account of more than 30 crore beneficiaries under the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Package."
