The government plans to set up a chain of 20 lakh retail shops before the deadline for restrictions on movement of people is extended amid the ongoing lockdown in India. These shops have been named 'security stores'. These shops will provide daily normal requirement to the people by strictly following the rules related to lockdown. Under this scheme, measures will be implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus throughout the entire supply chain from the manufacturing unit to the retail outlet. At the same, sources said that Consumer Affairs Secretary Pawan Kumar Aggarwal has held talks with officials of top FMCG companies to implement this ambitious scheme under public-private partnership.
