Karnataka: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Mulihithlu, Karnataka, a 32-year-old grocery store owner named Tausif Hussain has been apprehended for the brutal murder of his laborer, Gajnana. The accused set the victim on fire, attempting to disguise the crime as an unfortunate case of electrocution.
The swift action of Mangaluru South police led to the arrest of Tausif Hussain on 8th July, as confirmed by the city police commissioner, Kuldeep Kumar R Jain. This apprehension followed meticulous investigation, which involved interviewing local residents and collecting substantial evidence.
According to the police, the 35-year-old victim met a horrific fate due to a petty disagreement with Tausif Hussain. The distressing incident occurred on a Saturday morning within the shop's godown, where heated arguments ensued between the accused and Gajnana. Matters escalated when Hussain resorted to physically assaulting the laborer with a bottle before ruthlessly setting him ablaze at approximately 8:30 AM.
To conceal his heinous act, Hussain promptly extinguished the flames and confined Gajnana to the godown until 1:30 AM. Afterward, he deceived the local populace by asserting that the victim had suffered an accidental electrocution. Seeking assistance, he transported Gajnana to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tragically, despite medical intervention at Wenlock Hospital, the victim succumbed to his severe burn injuries. The attending doctors and police, recognizing the incongruity between the injuries and electrocution, initiated a comprehensive investigation.
Upon conducting a preliminary inquiry, the police officially classified the incident as a deliberate act of homicide, subsequently taking the perpetrator into custody. A case has been registered, and the investigation is underway to bring justice to the bereaved family and establish the complete truth surrounding this appalling crime.
