The central government has said that to make one year of unprecedented improvement in the Indian tax system to be memorable, 1st July will be celebrated GST Day. During a program in the central chamber of the Parliament, the goods and services tax (GST) was launched on midnight of 30th June 2017. 

The finance ministry said, "It was not easy to implement it. But GST has become a precedent for the world, in this unprecedented improvement in the Indian tax system, with the readiness to become a partner of Indian taxpayers."

Prior to the introduction of the new indirect tax system, there was a disturbance in the taxes imposed by the central government, state governments and local bodies in India. The ministry said, "GST has had a great effect on the Indian economy and it has proved to be a game changer because it has changed the complex system of indirect taxes that take place at many levels and in place a simple, transparent and technologically "

The tax system was implemented from July 1 last year. From now on, the government has issued 11 months tax evolving data, according to the figures released by the government, from July 2017 to May 2018, more than Rs 10 lakh crore under GST in the country. The tax has been collected.

According to the figures released by the government, a total tax collection of 10,07,395 crores has been collected from July 2017 to May 2018. Tax collection figures for the 12th month i.e. June will be released in early July.
