Ahmedabad: Reports of Islamic conversions are coming from different corners of the country. Now, the issue of conversion has also come to light from Gujarat. Santosh Pandhare, a resident of Azad Nagar in Surat city of the state, has converted to Islam and become Abdullah. As soon as he came to know about the case, his elder brothers tried to bring him back, but he failed.

According to media reports, Santosh, a resident of Surat, has changed his religion to Muslim. He lived with his two elder brothers in Azad Nagar. The parents of the trio had passed away several years ago. After being orphaned, the lives of the three were in poverty. One day in 2013, 16-year-old minor Santosh (now Abdullah) left home in search of work and did not return. His brothers searched him a lot, but he could not be found. One day after about 7-8 years, he called his brother and told him about himself. After talking on the phone, his brothers Rajesh and Dinesh tried tirelessly to bring him back to Surat but they did not succeed.

According to Santosh's brother Rajesh, he was a minor during that time, so he was first lured by some people and converted to Muslim. He also said that he was brought to Surat two years ago where he had called goons to kill his own brothers. However, one day he suddenly disappeared again. According to Santosh's brothers, he had sought help from Prasad Dubey of Bajrang Dal. Apart from this, the then Surat Commissioner Satish Sharma had also taken cognizance of the matter. After which the crime branch team brought Abdullah back to Surat. He is currently living somewhere in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Although the matter raises a big question, it was his personal decision that Santosh changed to Abdullah, but why did he develop hatred for his own brothers after he changed religion?
