Ahmedabad: The case of 'Love Jihad' has come to light from Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The 18-year-old girl, a resident of the Naranpura area of Ahmedabad city, came in contact with a Muslim youth from Palanpur through Instagram. After a few days, the two grew closer. Taking advantage of this, Riyaz Rafiq raped the girl, then started blackmailing her. As soon as the girl completed 18 years of age, Riyaz married her and converted her in the presence of the maulvi.
According to media reports, the youth had stabbed the girl with a blade on his hand and emotionally blackmailed her and asked her for nude pictures. Riyaz then began blackmailing her. He also asked the girl for Rs 10 lakh and real papers in return. The incident took place at Himalaya Inn Hotel in Himalaya Mall. Riyaz later took the girl from there to Rajasthan. There he forcibly married the girl in court and converted her to Islam. Vastrapur police have registered a case under various sections relating to the case and under the Pocso Act. Police have also traced the mobile location and traced the duo. Police are also searching for two friends who helped drive them away.
Police said the 18-year-old girl lives with her parents in the Naranpura area and studies in the commerce college. The student was a minor in 2019 when she came in contact with Riyaz Rafiq Memon of Palanpur through Instagram. He called her to meet her in the Himalayan mall and raped her. He also asked the girl for nude pictures. Riyaz blackmailed her emotionally by hitting a blade on his hands when the girl did not send pictures. Scared of this, the girl sent her nude pictures of her. Riyaz then began blackmailing her. Rafiq buys and sells old vehicles. He sent a friend request to the girl in the name of Kabir Khan, then started chatting and his everything till he married her that he was already married.
