Is Gujarat also going under lockdown? CM Rupani responds amid rising corona

Ahmadabad: Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has said that there will be no lockdown in the state, i.e., the government is not in a mood to impose any curfew during the day. In Gujarat, there have been questions about the lockdown in the minds of people since night curfew in cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and the closure of malls and cinema halls on Saturday-Sunday.

In view of the increasing number of corona cases across the country, CM Vijay Rupani said that the number of corona patients in Gujarat is still very low as compared to other states. The state government has made all efforts to break the corona infection chain. The contact is tracing and vaccination is also given full emphasis. CM Vijay Rupani has made it clear that people need not panic. These steps have been taken to take precautions in view of the crowds gathering at malls and elsewhere. The state government is reviewing corona cases every day. Even people coming from other states are being screened.

When questioned by CM Vijay Rupani about the negligence that has been committed by the leaders over the local body elections, he said that even in states where elections have not been held, corona cases have increased. There was no election in Maharashtra, yet corona cases are coming up. The government is fully prepared to deal with the corona.
