Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thakrey sau that 'Gujarat model' of growth has been 'shaken' after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Gujarat polls with only 99 seats as opposed to its announced target of 150 seat  Gujarat election polls 2017.Although Shiv Sena, in its spokeperson 'Saamana' daily, congratulated Bharti Janta Party for its win in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, it also caution the saffron party and said the yesterday's result should also be taken as a sign of advice for 2019 general elections.

Shiv Sena, which shares an bitter relationship with the Bharti Janta Party despite being a coalition partner, said the party could not even touch the triple-figure mark in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat, whose development is cited as a model for other states.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls Gujarati identity, Pakistan, Hindu-Muslim in his campaigning but noone talked about the so called growth and development that has taken place in past 22 years," Shiv Sena said in its mouthpiece.Shiv Sena also highlited that Demonetisation and Goods and Service Tax (GST) did not affect Bharti Janta Party (BJP) in urban sector, Shiv sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray-led party highlighted that Paatidar leader Hardik Patel attracted thousands of people in its rallies, and Congress, along with the young leaders, managed to stop BJP at 99.Shiva Sena over and done with by saying that the 'model' has been flustered, and hoped that it would not get completely destroyed in 2019 election .
