Ahmedabad: Assembly elections are about to be held in Gujarat and the dates may be announced soon. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also contesting the elections in Gujarat and the party is engaged in campaigning with great vigour. Meanwhile, Gujarat Police suspect that AAP is sending money to the state through hawala channels for its election campaign expenses ahead of the elections. Whereas AAP has denied these allegations.

Let us inform you that on October 12, some thieves escaped with a bag from the car of AAP candidate Rakesh Solanki from Bardoli in Surat, Gujarat. It is said that this car was borrowed by an AAP candidate from Saurabh Pandey. Police said that Adil Memon, who was passing by at the same time, saw the incident and chased the bike-borne thieves. The thieves later left the bag on the road and fled. On the other hand, Surat Rural Superintendent of Police Hitesh Joysar, while talking to the media on the Surat incident, said, 'A brave man chased the miscreants and recovered the bag after that. Later, the bag reached the police and the police started investigating. The police got information that the car belonged to an AAP candidate and the candidate had himself reached the police station and said that the money recovered from the thief belonged to him.'

The Superintendent of Police also told that the police has also informed the Income Tax Department to get information about where all this money came from and how it came. SP Surat Rural has told that the team of Surat Police and Income Tax is investigating the matter. Let us tell you that a few days ago (October 12), Rajasthan Police recovered Rs 5 crore 96 lakh from two vehicles on the border of Rajasthan adjoining Gujarat. The money bringers are residents of Ahmedabad. The money was recovered by the police in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Sirohi DSP Yogesh Sharma said that prima facie this whole matter seems to be of hawala and it is the money of hawala.

However, on these allegations, Gujarat AAP spokesperson Yogesh Jadwani says that the truth will finally come out with the investigation. Jadwani said, 'We are not opposing the investigation in any way. Let the investigation happen and the truth will come out in front of everyone. In the past, too many attempts were made to malign the image of AAP, but none of them succeeded.'
