Mehsana, Gujarat: At least 13 people were wounded following conflicts between people of two communities in Hasanpur village of Visnagar taluka of Mehsana on Thursday. All the wounded have been admitted to Visnagar civil hospital, said police offiials, adding that a team of Rapid Action Force has been set up in the village and voting has picked up where left off.
The conflict took place between Patidars and Thakors. The Patidars were in support of Congress candidate, while the group of people from Thakor community was in support of BJP candidate. At the outset members of the two groups chucked abuses and later bombard stones at each other. Some people also showed aggression at the rival group with sticks. Police officials said that all injured belong to Patidar community.
