Gujarat Polls: Modi, Rahul Gandhi, P. Chidambaram urges people to cast their votes

New Delhi [India], Dec 14 (NT): As the second phase of Gujarat Assembly polls began on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with newly crowned president Rahl Gandhi and P. Chidambaram requested people to vote in "recording numbers" and enhance the "festival of democracy."

"Today is Phase 2 of the Gujarat elections. I request all those voting today to vote in record numbers and enrich this festival of democracy," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted in the wee hours of this morning.

Senior Congress leader and Ex-finance minister P. Chidambaram urged people of Gujarat to vote for change of 22 years government

“To my fellow citizens of Gujarat: Every vote matters. Just go out and vote. Vote for a change of government after 22 years.” He tweeted.

Uncontested President Rahul Gandhi requested to people of Gujarat on his twitter handle to cast their votes to brighten future of Gujarat.

“The Navasarjan in Gujarat has already been introduced. Your one vote will strengthen and empower the foundations of democracy. Gujarat is appealing to the public to vote more and more for the bright future of Gujarat”, Rahul tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP Senior L K Advani, and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are among the saffron heavyweights required to exercise their franchise in the second and concluding phase of Gujarat polls
