This will be the very first occurrence of a sea plane taking off in India by any PM.

A seaplane landed on the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad and took off soon with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on board for the Dharoi Dam about 180 km away, from where the PM will pay his visit the famous Ambaji temple in Mehsana as  concluding his campaigning  for the Gujarat assembly Polls today. Modi will take same wings back to Ahmedabad .

According to PM Modi's schedule for Gujarat, CM Rupani said, ''Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit in the sea plane from here to Dharoi. Modi will first visit Ambaji temple and come back from Dharoi to Sabarmati in the same wigs."

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani is also likely to address a public meeting in Anand district today.

"We cannot have airports everywhere, so our government has arranged to have these sea-planes," PM Modi had said on Monday.

The seaplane take-off from the Sabarmati was alternate plan after the PM's road show in Ahmedabad today was called off. It is designed to grab the eye balls of people of Gujarat to the development work done by the BJP, which is looking for a fifth straight tenure in power in Gujarat, against the Congress. Congress has focused its campaign with allegations that the Gujarat model of development is a fail.
