On Sunday, in the rite of violence in Mehsana and Surat, and after news spread of SPG convener Lalji Patel assisting injuries amid the Patidar jail bharo agitation.Police officers and personnel were at short notice deployed over key locations in city, where violence had occurred in August last year

Police said -miscreants pelted stones on two AMTS buses in Ghatlodia and uprooted a few barricades at the MEGA construction site near Vastral, on Sunday. No complaint or application has been registered in the two incidents.

Senior city police officials said, “ personnel across the city have been told to stay alert till Monday midnight, keeping in mind the Gujarat bandh call by Patidar leaders. All DCPs have been allotted Vajra riot control vehicles to handle contingencies”

Officials added, “there would be heavy deployment of city police and State Reserve Police (SRP) personnel on roads”

Police aforesaid, “after re ceiving the news Lalji Patel's injury, local residents took to the streets in areas like Vastral and Nikol. A mob then targeted the ongoing MEGA construction project at Vastral around 2.30 pm and uprooted a few barricades near the project site. Police however arrived on the spot in time and dispersed the crowd”

In Ghatlodia,the bus of route number  643 (Lal Darwaja to Wagheshwari Society) and 472 (Sundaramnagar to Wagheshwari Society) were targeted by a riot close Wagheshwari Society. Meanwhile, nobody was injured in the stone pelting.

As per the police sources, “a group in Ghatlodia had approached senior police officials to seek permission to hold a rally at Patidar Chowk in the afternoon. Meanwhile, police officials convinced them to refrain from the step in fearing breach of law and order.The chowk, an epicentre of action in earlier agitations, saw groups gathering near the crossroads throughout Sunday while police deployed multiple vehicles in the area”
