STORY

Gully Boy is a film about a 22 year old Muslim kid Murad from a ghetto in Bombay. The boy is a rapper, and the story is his journey from realising his love for rap, to chasing his dream, and to inadvertently transcending his class. Authentic Hip Hop in India is a recent phenomenon and like anywhere else in the world, is rising from the streets. It is the only true political space in music right now and it's coming from people that have nothing to lose, the colonised poor.

Acting

Ranveer singh absolutely kills the slow-burning rapper act. What's more, he does with a lot of energy to spare.Alia Bhatt also has also pushed her boudries and set the milestone for the others. Other supporting actors also have done their part very well.

Music

The icing on the cake is its music which brilliantly supports the story. All the songs are loved by the audience.

Direction

Zoya Akhtar knows achived the success in delivering whatever she want to give  through this film. It is the direction of . She  has, arguably, has made the best Hindi film in at least a decade. She made  a film that knows its beats and captures a cultural milieu that has long lacked mainstream representation.
