Mumbai: Unidentified gunmen opened fire outside the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Sunday morning (April 14th), sparking concerns about his safety. The incident occurred around 5 AM outside Khan's Galaxy Apartments residence in the Bandra (West) area of Mumbai. Last year, Khan had reportedly received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, adding a layer of suspicion to the shooting. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.

Preliminary reports suggest that two strangers on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Salman Khan’s apartment in Bandra. In response, multiple teams from the Bandra police and crime branch have been dispatched to investigate the scene. Law enforcement officials have seized a CCTV DVR from the vicinity of the shooting to aid in identifying the assailants.

Accompanied by forensic experts, the police are meticulously examining the area for evidence. The incident is believed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously targeted Salman Khan. In 2022, Khan’s father, Salim Khan, received threats while on a morning walk, prompting an increase in security measures for the family. Khan himself received threatening emails in November 2023, further escalating concerns for his safety.

Security measures for Khan, including an increase in private security personnel and the issuance of a pistol license, have been implemented in response to previous threats. Despite these precautions, the recent shooting outside his residence underscores the persistent security risks faced by high-profile figures in the entertainment industry.
