The shooting of Ramayana was done in Baroda, but the flowers used in Swayamvar were brought from Mumbai, that too through airplanes. For the number of days the shooting of Ram-Sita Swayamvar went on, the journey from Baroda to Mumbai was done daily. A special set of 100x100 meters was also designed just for this scene. About this experience, Shahab Shamsi, Creative Director of Ramayana, says - Ram-Sita Swayamvar is considered to be the most beautiful moment in human history. This scene was shot in Baroda when the temperature was 42 degrees. There was no facility of AC. Flowers were also perishable due to the scorching heat.

It had become a big challenge for the makers of Ramayana in such a situation. He also had to keep the Swayamvara of Ram Sita grand and close to reality. It was decided that flowers would be brought daily from Mumbai via flight. Shahab Shamsi says about this - I used to travel from Mumbai to Baroda with 10 kg rose and Mogra daily. I also brought Ram-Sita's varmala from Mumbai itself. According to Shamsi, because he traveled so often between Mumbai and Baroda, the security personnel of both the airport knew him well. If they believed, even those security personnel were surprised to see what would be done with so many flowers. But when he told about the Swayamvara of Ram-Sita, everyone welcomed it. Shamsi considers this to be the strength of Shri Ram. They say - from the beginning to the end, only Ram, Jai Shri Ram.
