Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib is situated in Delhi. It is the most prominent Sikh Gurudwara. In the 17th century shrine is dedicated in the memory of Guru Har Krishan Ji the eighth Guru of Sikhs. Gurudwara draws attention due to its magnificent structure and architectural beauty and the large water body Sarovar located within the complex.
Guru Har Krishan Ji is the eighth Guru and the youngest Guru. At the age of five Guru Har Krishan Ji became Guru with the shortest period of Guruship of only 2 years and 5 months. At the age of 7 Guru Sahib died because smallpox epidemic that was happening. At a young age Guru Sahib has taken the responsibility of helping the epidemic-hit people of Delhi. The Guru is said to have cured people by offering the holy water.
Guru Har Krishan was given the name Bal Pir which means Child Saint.
In 1664, when Guru Har Krishan visited Delhi, he stayed at this bungalow. Severe cholera and smallpox epidemics broke out in Delhi during the same time. The Guru extended his helping hand to the affected people by offering water from the well located within the bungalow complex. But the Guru himself contracted the ailment and finally died in that same bungalow.

Raja Jai Singh dedicated his home to the beloved Guru after his passing. As a result, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was created and elevated to a significant Sikh shrine. The tank that the Raja constructed over the well is still a defining characteristic of this Gurudwara.
Gurudwara bangle sahib Gurudwara has magnificent architecture and its religious importance makes Bangla Sahib famous. The massive structure is constructed using Sikh architecture. Although the entire building is composed of white marble, its distinguishing feature is a central golden dome. Nishan Sahib is the name of the tall flag mast perched atop the dome and is visible from a distance. On the Gurudwara front wall are intricate carvings.
The complex's enormous water tank, known as the Sarovar, adds to the overall architectural attractiveness of the Gurudwara. The complex also includes a community kitchen Langer, a museum, an art gallery, a school, a hospital, and a library in addition to the Gurudwara.
The Langer Ghar of Gurudwara Bangle Sahib serves free vegetarian meals to around 30,000 people every day. The Langer is served to everyone all visitors, regardless of caste, creed, race, religion, or economic standing in society. A large number of people extended their voluntary service at the community kitchen to help in preparing the food.
Baba Bangla Singh Museum is inside Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and is one the place where you may learn about the history of Sikhism. The museum also tells the tale of all the 10 Gurus and the Skih martyrs who gave their lives in defense of their religion.
It is believed that the Sarovar at Bangla Sahib has miraculous powers and can cure one of the diseases and ailments you are suffering from.
