GURUGRAM: The main suspect in the alleged murder of a 32-year-old scrap dealer who was shot dead by three armed bike-riding attackers in Bhoda Kalan village on September 2 over a business rivalry has been taken into custody by Gurugram Police.
Bittu Sharma, 30, has been named as the suspect in the murder of Sumit Chauhan, which he committed with a companion. Five criminals have been apprehended by the police thus far in connection with the case.
During questioning, Bittu admitted that deceased Sumit had established a solid reputation in the scrap industry and that he competed with the deceased there.
"The two groups used to fight and harbour animosity toward one another as a result of the conflict between them. Bittu and his fellow conspirators intended to murder Sumit, and one of them purchased three pistols and one locally-made pistol from Uttar Pradesh to carry out the scheme "ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan said.
Approximately six shots were fired at Sumit Chauhan during the incident, which took place on September 2 at around 11.15 p.m. under the Bilaspur police station area, before the attackers fled the scene.
The perpetrators were the subject of a murder case that also included an Arms Act registration at the Bilaspur police station, according to the police.
