Varanasi: The district court of Varanasi has considered the application of the Hindu side seeking worship of Shringar Gauri in the Gyanvapi complex located in Varanasi, the city of Baba Vishwanath. While hearing the matter, the court said that this case is worthy of hearing and now the next hearing in this matter will be done on September 22. Muslim side had sought to dismiss the claim of the Hindu side, citing the Places of Worship Act of 1991. On this, the court said that the Hindu side has not talked about any new construction, but has sought the right to worship while maintaining the status quo. The counsel for the Hindu side said that the court has clarified that the Places of Worship Act of 1991 will not apply in this case.

Now after the court has given the green signal to run the case, the Hindu side says that now demand will be made from our side for videography of the mosque premises. The counsel for the Hindu side has said that the Worship Act of 1991 is in our favour because we say that on 15 August 1947, the religious nature of this place was that of a Hindu temple. Taking this as the basis, the court has asked for the matter to be heard. The court has fixed September 22 for the next hearing. The Muslim side will have the right to approach the High Court or the Supreme Court against this decision.

Let us tell you that this decision of the court is regarding the hearing of the petition seeking worship of Shringar Gauri on the Gyanvapi campus. No final decision has been taken on this. The petitioner of this case, Sohan Lal Arya has said 'This is a victory of the Hindu community. The next hearing is scheduled for the 22nd. It is like the foundation stone for the Gyanvapi temple. We request people to maintain peace.' Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the court's decision is welcome. He said that our job is to maintain law and order in the state.
