Lucknow: A medical student has committed suicide in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. It is being told that the deceased Amit Majumdar was studying MBBS and he was a fourth-year student. He was mentally ill for the past few days. Due to this, he committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the hostel room.

The matter is of the Medical College Campus of the city Kotwali. Seeing the dead body of the student hanging in the fan, a sensation spread in the hostel. Police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. After taking the body in possession and sending it for post-mortem, an investigation has been started into the matter. The police have also informed his family members about the incident. Meanwhile, the police have recovered a suicide note from the spot. In this, Amit has written that no one should be held responsible for his death. During the investigation, it was found that the deceased student was under stress due to financial constraints. He was a resident of Shikohabad. 

In this case, Banda's DSP Anand Pandey has informed that 'The body of Amit Majumdar, a 2016 batch MBBS student, was found hanging in the hostel room at Rani Durgavati Medical College. He was a student of the 4th year and was studying and living in the hostel. He has further told that 'Amit was undergoing treatment in Psychiatry OPD.' During the interrogation of fellow students and teachers, it has been found that he used to live in depression most of the time. Didn't even talk to anyone. Further action will be taken only after the post-mortem report is received.
