VARANASI: The Varanasi court's Additional District judge Anuradha Kushwaha has issued notices to defendants in the revised petition filed by a lawyer Hari Shankar Pandey, that seeks filing of a case against Samajvadi party  chief Akhilesh Yadav, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi and others for their alleged remarks on the purported 'Shivling' found in the Gyanvapi mosque compound and alleged dirtying of its ablution pond by visitors.
"The court has fixed April 14 for next hearing."

Earlier on February 15, the Varanasi Court had rejected a plea filed before it seeking registration of criminal cases against Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi for their alleged remark against 'Shiva Linga', purportedly found inside Gyanvapi Mosque premises in Varanasi last year.

From the district judge court, the revision petition was transferred to the court of ADJ-IX. The court began the procedure of hearing the revision petition and served notices to all defendants.
