BANGALORE:  The mega order book of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is full with orders of Rs 84,000 crore,  while another order book of Rs 50,000 crore is underway, HAL Chairman and Managing Director said in a statement.

With India planning to sell fighter planes and helicopters to Argentina, Egypt, and the Philippines, defence exports have significantly increased. CB Ananthakrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), disclosed on February 14 that the PSU is sitting on a book order of Rs. 84,000 crore and is awaiting the completion of other projects worth Rs. 50,000 crore.

Argentina, Egypt, and the Philippines have expressed interest in HAL's Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), according to CB Ananthakrishnan at Aero India 2023. He claims that HAL has presented Argentina with 15 LCA Mk-1s, Egypt with 20 LCAs, and the Philippines with six helicopters.

“The country has been able to generate a lot of interest in the global aerospace market, and sooner or later, we will achieve a breakthrough order,” HAL chief said while addressing a press conference.

In his first speech at Aero India on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government plans to more than increase defence exports to over $5 billion.

Singapore orders: Ananthakrishnan acknowledged that the talks with Malaysia have seen a "slight setback" in answer to a query regarding their condition.

"There is nothing in black and white that we have received... The HAL chief responded, "But we've heard the Koreans might get the order. However, he claims that HAL is still trying desperately to get their product through.

Pavilion for Aero India: Tejas fighter fighters and other models of its helicopters, like as the LUH and ALH, were on exhibit at the HAL pavilion to be shown off to international visitors, particularly to the 32 defence ministers and 29 air commanders from friendly nations who would be future customers. On Monday, the first day of the five-day air display at Yelahanka Indian Air Force Station, the locally produced air platforms also performed multiple manoeuvres in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The public sector undertaking has solid financials, according to Ananthakrishnan. With an order we currently have in hand worth Rs. 84,000 crore and orders in the works worth roughly Rs. 50,000 crore, we are in a comfortable position today.

On the first day of Aero India 2023, India Air Force Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari piloted an LCA SPT aircraft to inspire confidence in foreign delegates. India is actively promoting homegrown defence products at Asia's largest air show. To highlight prospects and advancements in the emerging defence industry, homegrown private enterprises have prominently presented their products.
