Lucknow: The dargah in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district, where the locals have claimed to be an ancient temple, is being reported to have found idols of deities during excavation. The idols were recovered inside the dargah falling in the Jalesar police station area while digging the foundation stone for the construction of a police outpost for security reasons. Hindu organisations have announced taking out a procession of these idols. At the same time, the Archaeology Department will explore the antiquity of the idols. The excavation was carried out on Friday (April 15, 2022).

According to media reports, the foundation of the proposed police outpost was being dug about 10 metres away from Bade Mian Ki Mazar. During this time, the idols of Hanuman and Shanidev came out of the ground. On getting information, local BJP MLA Sanjeev Diwakar also reached the spot. In his presence, the idol of Hanuman was washed with water and the statue of Shanidev was washed with oil. The incident was also shared by local BJP MLA Sanjeev Diwakar on his Facebook page. He wrote, "Today on 15th April 2022, during the excavation for the construction of a police outpost at Jalesar Shanidev Temple, the idol of Shanidev and Veer Hanuman Ji was removed. There are also fears of other deaths. A crowd of devotees thronged Shanidev. In the pictures shared by Sanjeev Diwakar, many people are seen present at the spot.

Let us tell you that along with the BJP MLA, the local people also claim that where the Mazar of Bade Mian is located, there was earlier an ancient temple. Later, the dargah gradually encroached upon and ended the existence of the temple. Meanwhile, on April 13, a photo of him waving the saffron flag at the same dargah had also gone viral. On this, Aliganj SDM Alankar Agnihotri had described it as a flag offered by Hindu devotees coming to worship Shanidev, which is red in colour. A multi-crore scam has also been unearthed in the offering of this dargah, on which the police have registered a case and are investigating.
