Among the veteran Bollywood actors, we are talking about 'Mahmud' who was an Indian actor and film director. He has been known and acclaimed for his marvelous performances as comedians in Hindi films. In his three-decade-long ary, he worked in more than 300 Hindi films. Mahmood was born on September 29, 1932, in Mumbai. Mahmud Ali used to do petty work before the actor banned, even driving. Meena Kumari was hired to teach table tennis. She later married Meena Kumari's sister Madhu, and decided to act to earn more money after marrying and becoming a father. Initially, he played small characters in films like "Do Bigha Zameen" and "Pyaasa". Mahmood got the first big break in films in the film Upbringing (1958).
He played the brother of Raj Kapoor, the protagonist of the film. He later played the Kalzai role of a South Indian cook in the film Anonymous. He later played a lead role in some films but the audience liked him more as a comedian. Mahmood later opened his own production house. His first home production film was The Little Nawab. He later made the suspense-comedy film Ghost Bungalow as a director. After that, his film neighbours proved to be a massive hit of the 60s. Neighbours are counted among the best comic films in the Hindi cine world. In many of his films, he looked heavy on the hero's character. At that time, most Bollywood heroes were afraid of Mahmood's acting. But Mahmud was not afraid of any actors. He was just scared of a human being and he was, Kishore Kumar.
He said, "I know the limits of all the actors, but it is a little difficult to find kishore kumar. He never does anything with his character." But he later made the film 'Neighbours' with Kishore Kumar and Sunil Dutt, which is still counted as the best comic film. The film was a tremendous hit at that time. At one point, Mahmud also sold eggs and combs on the train.
