Today is the birthday of former President of India, Pratibha Patil. She was born on 19 December 1934 to Narayan Rao Patil in Nandgaon, Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. She became the President of the country in the year 2007 and she served the nation as a President till the year 2012.

She is known as Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, the first woman President of India and on the other hand, she was the 12th President of the country. Pratibha Patil, a member of the Indian National Congress, is said to be the first woman to reach the highest post in the country. She has also been the Governor of Rajasthan from the year 2004 to 2007.

The former president did her early studies from RR school in Jalgaon. She is a graduate in politics and economics, not only that she also has a degree in law. She was born into a good family. She has also advocated. Her political career started soon. At the age of just 27, she was elected MLA from Jalgaon. She won 4 times from Muktanagar between 1967 and 1985. She was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991. In the general election, she was elected from Amravati parliamentary constituency and reached the Lok Sabha.
