Jayaprakash Narayan popularly known as JP or Lok Nayak, was an Indian independence activist, thinker, socialist and political leader. He has also been recognized as a "hero of the Quit India movement" and is remembered for leading a mid-1970s protest against Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to whom he called the "Total Revolution". . His biography was written by Jayaprakash, his nationalist friend and an eminent writer about the sound of Hindi literature, Rambriksha Benipuri, in 1999, Posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, for his social work Gone. Other awards include the Magsaysay Award for Public Service in 1965.

Jayaprakash Narayan was born on 11 October 1902 in the village of Sitabadiyara, Saran district, Bengal Presidency, British India. Of Uttar Pradesh.

His home in a large village was on the banks of the flood-prone Ghaghra River. When the flow of rain and river was fast, then there was a filler of water in his house, due to which he had to face many problems. Not only this, he also had to stay away from the settlement many times with this problem.

Jayaprakash Narayan returned to India from America as a Marxist in late 1929. He joined the Indian National Congress at the invitation of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1929, having been his mentor in the Mahatma Gandhi Congress. He spent his time at a house in Kadam Kuan in Patna with his close friend and nationalist Ganga Sharan Singh (Sinha). With whom he shared the most cordial and lasting friendship and memories.
